Today, at Netherwood ALC, the year 3/4 hockey team went on to win the Barnsley Finals. This is the first hockey tournament we have entered and the team worked incredibly hard to achieve first place. The team have now qualified for the South Yorkshire finals held in July later this year. Well done, superstars!!! Finally, a big thank you to Miss Kennedy for all her hard work and commitment to running training sessions leading up to the successful day.

Y5/6 Tag Rugby Finalists
An absolutely freezing cold evening up at Penistone Grammar School, which made for fitting conditions in an exciting Tag Rugby tournament. The Y5/6 team won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 2 to finish third in their league. Working together to show determination, courage and teamwork payed off as they scored some wonderful tries. A very brave team who fought in the harsh elements to secure a place in the Barnsley finals held on the 29th of March. Well done, team!!!

EFL North East National Finals
A day to remember. A truly spectacular performance from our 6 a side team from PSJP, who represented Barnsley FC, in the EFL kids cup final at Oakwell. The boys made an incredible start, working as a unit to win against Blackburn Rovers, 1-0. In the second game, against Burton Albion, we were in full control of the game but luck wasn't on our side when we drew 1-1. Going forward, we played Leeds United to dominate yet another game to be rewarded with a 0-0 draw. The next game was played with great importance, where the boys found brilliant shape and played some extremely good football, comfortably. Unfortunately, to the teams disappointment, we faced a loss in the game to Derby County, 1-0. In the last game we grinded out a draw to local rivals Huddersfield Town. Finishing second in the table, we were unable to progress in the competition. However, the boys have exceeded all expectation and shown great courage, heart and determination to get as far as they did. You have made history once again at the school and should be so proud of your achievement. Well done, team!

St John's Sports Achievements
As I left school today, I couldn't help but reflect on the achievements of our school so far this year. All children have worked incredibly well together to achieve what they have, showing; faith, determination and loyalty to each club and each training session that has been presented to them. Without everyone's commitment to school sport, and most importantly that of the children, we wouldn't have achieved what we have. Well done everyone. A very proud teacher!!!
Goal Time
And PSJP walk away with the win. Goals from all over the field as PSJP stretch Kexborough and are victorious, winning 10-0. Time to get warm and prepare for the weekend. Well done boys!
